Getting Comfortable with a Cool Dessert - What's a Poached Pear

Elegant and Easy: This is an easy way to start off and get your summer dessert regime going. This is nice to entertain 4 - 50 or just serve your family a great dessert for dinner. Poached Pear w/ pistachio raisin fillin and carmel sauce


Ingredients:
4 pears cored
raisins
pistachio
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups white wine(your favorite)
1/2 cup ginergale


Directions:
Peel all pears and core; Keep core and cut core in half (keeps the stem half of core)
In a bowl: mix raisins, pistachios, 1 1/2 tsp of sugar, add core back to pear;  spoon in raisin mixture into middle of pear
Place pear in a baking dish (repeat for all pears)
Poaching Liquid: wine and general add to baking dish once all pears are in; cover with foil
Bake on 350 degrees for 30minutes(until tender, but not mushy)
Remove pears from baking dish and place on plate to cool
place poaching liquid in a small sauce pan, put on med-high heat and reduce until gold and bubbly(be careful not to allow to touch skin will stick and burn you)
Crush some pistachios and sprinkle on plate in your own design
Take a pairing knife, cut a /\ shape in pear and expose the center. Place on serving plate
cut piece from pear in 3 pieces, arrange on plate
spoon over carmel sauce


To give this dessert a BAM you can add some ice cream!


Now wasn't that easy!!!
